Video - Subclips

When working with a video asset, you might sometimes need a shorter clip of the original video. For example, if you wish to simply export a scene, create highlights, post a clip to social media etc.

Note: In order for you to share your subclip outside Media Pocket, you need to first create clip and then Export (create an asset of the clip) before you can share it.

Create, render and export a subclip

Open the video asset
Use a slider under the asset to choose right clip
Give clip a title
Press +Create clip
Open the clips section in the side menu and click 'Render'. You will receive a notification once your clip is ready.

Note: Depending on the quality, bitrate and format of your clip, this can take anything from a few seconds up to several minutes (or longer). Usually, and working with short clips this is a rather quick process however.
Now you can either download the clip or export it as an asset (or delete it)

All created clips are available in the clips section in the side menu.

Keyboard shortcuts

You can also use keyboard commands to move as well as set in/out points for your clip:

Spacebar or K = play / pause
L = go forward 5 sec
J = go back 5 sec
I = start clip (input)
O = end clip (output)
Z = undo clip

Note: You need to have the player window inactive for the shortcuts to work. Simply click aside from the player window so it doesn't have a blue (selected) border.
