Word Search and Filters
Media Pocket has a powerful search engine to make sure you don't need to spend time browsing different folders to find a certain asset. You may search with the word search or with filters, or combine these two methods.
Note: A hyphen (for example, co-founder) won't split the words in search if there's no space between the letters and the character. An underscore, on the other hand, will split the words (program_master = program & master). Also, All word searches in Media Pocket are case-insensitive.
Note: Filters work with AND operation (excluding dropdowns, that work with OR). The search returns all results matching the search query parameters. For example, if you filter with the tag "Marketing" the rest of the filters are updated to show only parameters of assets with a marketing tag. That helps you to narrow the search to find the specific asset you had in mind.
You cannot simultaneously search assets that are one OR another, such as "tag: marketing" OR "tag: finance". For that, you need to perform two separate searches.
Auto-filtered Search
When navigating into a project or collection, an automatic filter is applied to limit search results to that project or collection hierarchy. The active filter is indicated by a chip in the search bar and can be removed by clicking the chip or pressing Backspace two times.
This means you can easily find assets within a specific project or collection. If the filter is removed, the search will automatically apply to the entire environment.

Word search
Word search is convenient when you are looking for a particular asset or similar assets, and you are not quite sure what metadata asset includes. The Word Search covers words all data fields that are added in the active Search Settings configuration. You may adjust these from the Search Settings.

Search operators
Search operators can be used to extend and define your searches more efficiently. Search operators function in global search and all text-based filters.
- The AND operator (signifed with + ) is working by default, but might come handy when combining with other operators
- The OR operator (signified with | ) is used to get results from one or both of the search terms, for example: elevator | lift
- The * operator is used to define prefix, for example Lah* returns results that start with "Lah" (Lahti, Lahdessa etc.)
- " " is used to search for an exact match. For example: "Dogs running outside", only gives a results that have those words in that exact order
- The - operator excludes a term, for example: Dogs running -outside returns results that have Dogs running but excludes the ones with outside
- ( ) is used to prioritize results, for example: (elevator | lift) returns all elevator results first
Filters
Filters are useful if the assets include metadata such as tags, categories or custom fields. If you need to find the assets that are good to go, you may look for assets that have the status "approved".
Applied filters are listed on the top of the search results. You may save often-needed searches.

Filter out empty projects
You may filter out empty projects to focus only on projects that have assets in them.
Select "true" on the Project contains assets if you want to filter out all projects that do not have any assets.
Use Project contains assets in hierarchy filter if you want to include all projects that have assets in the root project or at least in one of its sub-projects.
If a project includes at least one media file, document, article, placeholder, or other asset type, it is not considered empty.

EXIF and IPTC
The embedded EXIF and IPTC metadata can be searched with Filters.

Custom Fields
Searchable Custom Field groups, such as "Production Info" and "Program Metadata" on the example image above, are automatically added to the Filters section.
If you want to search assets that have a specific custom field group added, click the tick box next to the group name.
(Please note, that field groups that are added by default do not count as "have values in this field".)

Search empty fields
You may search for empty text fields by typing "null". If you want to search assets that have a specific custom field group added but the field is empty, select the group and type "null" into the field you are searching.
